A roof replacement is one of the few projects you cannot pause halfway through. Once the shingles come off, the work has to keep moving until the roof is dry again. We plan around that fact: written quote up front, materials staged before tear-off, one crew on site start to finish.
When a replacement makes more sense than a repair.
- The roof is 20+ years old and showing wear.
- Wind or hail damage covers multiple slopes.
- Multiple repairs have already been done and leaks keep coming back.
- Interior ceiling stains have shown up in more than one room.
- Granules are pooling in the gutters and the shingles look bald in spots.
- An insurance adjuster has approved replacement after a storm claim.
What we install on replacements.
- Atlas architectural asphalt shingles. Most common install for Acadiana. Strong wind ratings and the longer Atlas Pro Gold warranty options.
- Class 4 impact-resistant shingles. Higher-grade asphalt that may qualify for an insurance discount in Louisiana.
- Standing seam metal panels. 24- and 26-gauge hidden-fastener systems. 40 to 60 year lifespan.
- FORTIFIED Roof systems. Installed to IBHS spec for measurable insurance savings.
- Synthetic underlayment and ice-and-water shield. Modern synthetic instead of felt paper. Ice-and-water around all penetrations and valleys.
- Ridge ventilation and intake vents. Proper attic ventilation that protects the warranty and extends shingle life.
- Drip edge, valley metal, step flashing. The boring details that determine whether the roof leaks in five years.
Our replacement process.
- 1. Inspection and written quote. We climb the roof, measure, photograph problem areas, and hand you a fixed written quote. No high-pressure pitch.
- 2. Pick the system. Shingle color, brand, warranty level, optional upgrades like FORTIFIED or impact-resistant shingles. Physical samples, not just a brochure.
- 3. Schedule. Most replacements get on the calendar within one to three weeks. We work around weather and around your life.
- 4. Tear-off day. Crew arrives early. Yard and landscaping get tarp protection. Old roof comes off and goes straight into our trailer.
- 5. Decking inspection. Rotten or soft decking gets photographed and replaced. New underlayment, drip edge, flashing, and shingles go down to manufacturer spec.
- 6. Final walk and warranty paperwork. Magnetic nail sweep of the driveway and yard. We hand you the warranty paperwork at completion. You do not chase us for it.
Why we are different on replacements.
- Local crews, year-round. Not out-of-state storm chasers. Our crews live in Acadiana and drive past your house every week.
- Fixed written prices. The number on paper is what you pay, unless we find decking damage we both see before charging anything more.
- Atlas Pro Gold certified. Most contractors install Atlas shingles. Fewer are certified to install them to the manufacturer spec that qualifies your roof for the longer warranty.
- Real workmanship warranty. Written, spelled out on the contract, hand-delivered at completion.
- One crew start to finish. Same team from tear-off to clean-up. No handoff to a subcontractor we have never met.

What a replacement costs.
In 2026, most asphalt shingle replacements on average-sized Acadiana homes fall in the $9,000 to $18,000 range. Larger homes, steep pitches, designer shingles, and complex roof lines push the price higher. Metal roofs typically start around $18,000 and scale with square footage. FORTIFIED upgrades add roughly $1,500 to $3,000 over a comparable standard install but often pay back through insurance savings.
What moves the price:
- Square footage and pitch. Bigger and steeper costs more.
- Roof complexity. Multiple valleys, dormers, and hips take longer.
- Decking condition. Hidden rot adds material and labor. Itemized on your quote.
- Material grade. Standard architectural shingles cost less than impact-resistant or designer shingles. Metal costs more again.
- FORTIFIED or impact upgrades. Optional, but often pay back through insurance discounts.
