Emergency response

Roof emergency? Call us first.

Same-day tarping and storm response across Lafayette, Opelousas, and Acadiana. Active leaks, missing shingles, fallen trees, sudden water entry. We answer the phone.

Water in your house at 8pm on a Tuesday is not a problem you can wait on. Active leaks soak insulation, sheetrock, and framing within hours. The faster the roof gets covered, the smaller the damage gets. We exist for that call.

What we handle on emergency calls.

  • Emergency tarp installs. Heavy-duty poly tarps fastened to the roof and weighted at the edges. Sized to cover the affected area plus overlap.
  • Active leak stabilization. Targeted seal of small leaks, ridge caps, and flashing penetrations where the source is identifiable.
  • Storm and hurricane damage response. Wind-lifted sections, missing shingles, debris damage, lightning impact.
  • Tree impact damage. Tarp around the fallen branch or tree until the tree service can clear it, then back out for the permanent fix.
  • Same-day documentation. Photos of damage for your insurance claim, time-stamped and emailed before we leave.
  • Coordination with insurance. We submit the tarp invoice and damage documentation directly to your insurer as part of the larger claim.

Our emergency process.

  1. 1. You call. Real person picks up. We get your address, the nature of the damage, and how soon we can be on site.
  2. 2. We dispatch. Crew loaded with tarps, fasteners, and ladders. Most Acadiana emergencies are reached same-day. After a major hurricane, sometimes the next morning.
  3. 3. We document on arrival. Photos before we touch anything. Time-stamped. Sent to you and copied into the claim file.
  4. 4. Tarp install. Heavy poly tarp covers the affected area. Fastened to roof framing where possible, weighted at the edges, overlapped to shed water.
  5. 5. Permanent repair scheduled. Tarp is a temporary fix. Within days we are back for the permanent repair or to start the full replacement.

Why call us first.

  • Local crews on local roads. We are not flying in from out of state. Faster response, especially after a storm when every traveling crew is booked.
  • We answer the phone after hours. Real person, real callback time, no voicemail abyss.
  • Insurance documentation built in. We document everything as we go, in the format insurers expect.
  • Tarp cost credited if we do the repair. The emergency response is not a profit center. If we do the full job, the tarp charge comes off the project total.
  • One company, full claim. Same team handles the tarp, the adjuster meeting, and the final replacement.

What to do before we arrive.

  • Stay off the roof. Wet decking after a storm is unsafe. Wait for us.
  • Move what you can. Buckets under active drips. Furniture and electronics away from leak areas.
  • Take photos from the ground. Wide shots of the home, close shots of any visible damage, photos inside of ceiling stains and water entry.
  • Call your insurance. File the claim before the tarp goes on. Get the claim number ready for us.

Where we respond.

Same coverage as our regular roofing service area. Lafayette, Opelousas, Carencro, Youngsville, Broussard, Scott, New Iberia, and across to Baton Rouge.

Emergency roofing FAQ

Common storm-day questions.

What counts as a roofing emergency?
Any active water entry: a leak dripping through a ceiling, a missing section of roof after wind, a tree branch through the decking, or storm damage that leaves the structure exposed. If water is getting in or the roof is open to weather, call us.
How fast can you tarp my roof?
In Acadiana, we get tarps on most homes the same day or the next morning. After a major hurricane, lead times stretch because every roofer is at capacity. We still get to you faster than out-of-state storm chasers.
Does my insurance cover emergency tarping?
Most homeowner policies in Louisiana cover reasonable emergency mitigation costs as part of the storm claim. Save your receipts and any photos we send you. We can submit the tarp invoice directly to your insurer as part of the larger claim.
How much does emergency tarping cost?
We charge a fair flat rate based on the size of the area we need to tarp and the roof access. If you go on to use us for the full repair or replacement, we credit the tarping cost back into the project.
What do I do if a tree is on my roof?
Stay out of the room directly below. Do not climb the roof. Call us. We can usually tarp around the tree the same day. Tree removal itself is handled by a tree service; we coordinate with them so we can secure the roof immediately after.
Can you stop a leak permanently same day?
Sometimes yes, with a targeted repair on a small leak. More often we tarp to stop the active water entry and schedule the permanent repair or replacement within days. We tell you which one applies on site.
Do I need to be home for the emergency tarp?
We prefer it so you can confirm scope and sign the work order. If you cannot get home, we can email a digital authorization and tarp without you on site.
