Storm damage claims
We make insurance claims easier.
Storm damage in Acadiana is common. The claim process should not be the hardest part. We photograph the damage, meet your adjuster, and translate the scope so you get what your policy actually owes you.
What we do on your claim.
- Document the damage. We climb the roof, photograph every slope, and produce a written damage report with images that hold up to insurer review.
- Meet your adjuster on site. The adjuster sees the roof for maybe 20 minutes. We make sure they see what we saw. Wind-lifted shingles, hail bruises, soft spots, missing flashing.
- Translate the scope. The insurance estimate is full of line items and codes. We read it with you and flag anything missing or undervalued.
- File supplements. When we tear off the roof and find decking damage, code-required upgrades, or extra layers, we document it and submit a supplement to your carrier. This is normal and legal.
- Handle depreciation recovery. Most Louisiana policies pay actual cash value first, then release depreciation after the work is done. We submit the paperwork your insurer needs to release that final check.
What we will not do.
- Waive your deductible. Illegal in Louisiana. Any contractor offering this is committing fraud and putting your claim at risk.
- Inflate damage to pad a claim. Insurance fraud catches up with both of us. We document what is actually there.
- Pressure you to file a claim. If your roof is worn out, not storm-damaged, we will tell you. A denied claim is worse than no claim at all.
- Act as a public adjuster. We are licensed roofers, not adjusters. If your situation needs a public adjuster, we will tell you and point you to one.
When you should call us.
- Right after a hailstorm, even if you cannot see damage from the ground. Hail damage is often invisible from below.
- After any hurricane or tropical system in our region. Wind damage shows up days later as leaks.
- When your insurance adjuster has already been out and the scope feels low.
- When a claim has been denied and you think it should not have been.

Will you help with my insurance claim?
Yes. We document storm damage with photos, meet your adjuster on site, and translate the insurance scope into plain English. We do not act as a public adjuster, but we make sure nothing legitimate gets missed in the estimate.
Can you waive my deductible?
No. Waiving an insurance deductible is illegal in Louisiana and most other states. Any contractor offering to do this is committing fraud and putting your claim at risk. We do not work that way.
What if my insurance denies the claim?
We help you understand why. Sometimes the denial is correct because the damage is wear and tear, not storm-related. Sometimes it is wrong, and you can request a reinspection or bring in a public adjuster. We do not pressure you to file a claim if there is not real storm damage.
What is the difference between ACV and RCV on my policy?
ACV is actual cash value: the depreciated value of your roof, what it is worth today. RCV is replacement cost value: what it costs to replace it new. Most LA policies pay ACV up front and the depreciation only after the work is done. We handle the supplements with your insurer so you collect the full RCV.
What is a supplement on a roofing claim?
A supplement is when we ask the insurance company to add costs to the original estimate. This is normal. The adjuster cannot see every detail from the ground or in a 20-minute roof inspection. When we tear off the old roof and find code-required upgrades, rotten decking, or extra layers, we document it and submit a supplement.
